The pupils have selected Austrian
artists from the 20th century, who emigrated from their native country
or wanted to change social conventions with artistic means and therefore
had to suffer an inner absence or emigration.
Discussions took place with the art and the biography, the reasons of
the emigration and the influence of the emigration on the art.
The artists who have experienced the emigration as an expression of the
physical and emotional liberation are usually Jewish tribe Austrians who
had to leave Austria in the time of the National Socialism for ever or
at times.
The emigration of the presence artists has, both an art immanent and sociopolitical
background and still lasts.
