Capacitors

Capacitors can store electric charges and release them when needed. They consists of two electrically conducting plates of opposite charge which are separated by an insulator (made of e.g. plastic). In electrolytic capacitor the insulation layer is deposited on aluminium by means of an electrolyte. The amount of electric charge that can be stored at the same voltage is called the capacity of the capacitor.
