Diodes allow electric current to flow only in one direction. This means that they can change alternating current in pulsating direct current. According to design they can be used for low or very high currents. LED's (light - emitting diodes or light diodes) emit light.
LED's or light diodes are used in pocket calculators. Arranged in a grid pattern, they display sequences of numbers. They are semiconductors diodes which emit light when a current flows through them in forward direction.
LED's are semiconductor diodes with a pn-gate in forward direction. They emit light while the current is flowing. LED's are less sensitive in operation than light bulbs.
