Our Itinerary
begins at the underground Station Lanza (Green Line). After leaving behind the
Castello we walk along Pontaccio Street. Palazzo Crivelli is number 12. Starting on 1633 the Crivelli family bought progressively a serie of landed estates along the river Naviglio now covered, and built over these areas one of the most elegant buildings in the town of the 16th and 17th Century |
| The façade,
following the Milan tradition which stated that splendor and luxury were to be reserved to
the interiors, is sober like almost all the buildings we shall discover along our
itinerary. The central balcony has a forged iron balustrade with a central bulge.
After crossing the front door, the visitor can see the austere main "cortile", pwith an arcade both on the side of the entrance and in front of it with five arches over high columns. |

You
can get to the first floor by the stairs on the left of the main cortile.

After the first flight the main stair is divided in two symmetric flights. The balustrade is a precious sinuously shaped sculpture |
