Really, there's an museum at Reutte?
This is what we started of with. Full of surprise exclaimed by a student of the 6th form, expressing what we actually all had in mind. A museum in Reutte - what else as a bore? After having been to the museum for the first time, in cluding a presentation of the ideas and perspectives of museum@online, our attitude towards the museum changed. Excited about the new dimensions, being offered by this competition to the museum, we decided to face the challenge. What's there to make teenagers being interested in museums???
Considering this aspect you have to check our web-page. We chose a topic remoted from our interests - baroque in the Heimatmuseum Grünes Haus.
In the successive weeks we racked our brains, tried things out, designed and re-designed them, which led us to the concept we could follow. We chose baroque paintings from the Heimatmuseum. First of all we wrote biographies and descriptions of the paintings being anything but fun. Now there was the actual creative work to begin. We composed texts referring to each artist and each painting. All genres were accepted: fairy tales, poems, anecdotes, etc. These texts don't correspond to the historical fatcs but they mirror the impressions the paintings made on us.
Creativity didn't only come in handy when writing texts because we had to produce paintings which meet the young visitor's demands. The motive and the topic remained, only composition and colours were changed, which led to those incredible results.
We sticked to the baroque. Not only in art but also in history and German did it remain our main topic. We took a closer look at the historical background and the living conditions in the Baroque. Probably we didn't come across baroque poetry, dealing with war, love, envy and death accidentally since they are still rather topic.
We hope you can feel this baroque inspiration on your way through our web-page!
Yours sincerely
The 6th form of the BRG Reutte
