The manor-house was still the old red-painted house of one story from the end of the 18th century where she and her parents had lived, but later she decieded to have the house completly rebuilt, and this was done in 1921-23 acording to drawings by G.Clason. Selma Lagerlöf lived in this new house until she died in 1940.
